  • U.S. Government – Ambassador to Ecuador; Member of the Board, Panama Canal Commission; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Caribbean and Cuba; Chair, U.S. Government trade-advisory committee.

  • Opinion Leader – Chair or Co-Chair of several committees at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers; testified before committees of the U.S. Congress and before the U.S. Government’s Interagency Trade Policy Committee for the U.S. Chamber.

  • Commercial Diplomacy – Designed and implemented a commercial-diplomacy program for Amway that resolved problems numerous major markets.  Trained and mentored local staff in public-policy management.

  • Investment Banking – As a principal at Pierce Investment banking, developed non-recourse finance projects in Ecuador, Argentina and Mexico.

  • Frequent Speaker – Guest lecturer at China’s National University for Law and Politics; Xiamen University, Xiamen China; at Louisiana State University and at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government; Keynote speaker at trade conferences and public policy events.
